The English subject

Hello everyone again I hope you are all doing allright, today is the last time I will post a blogg for a long time since our subject of English is coming to an end, so for this last time I will tell you about my experience in the classes I had. So first I will tell you that my english in school was quiet good so I could adapt fast to the one of the university. I never had too much difficulty so it was a relief and easy to take, it was good I only wish it had more to it besides the bloggs and the classes sorta like singing that is so cool, or dancing in english I dont know. The bloggs were fine they always came up with something new, some times it was a little boring we had to stay until late doing them but it was useful to practice my english and learning some new words. I feel I havent practiced my pronunciation and that has been my problem in english for a long time, that is my weakness, to solve this I am gonna have to sing more or talk to people in english because I think that is the only way to improve my problemas. After university, I usually learn English when looking the meaning of the lyrics of songs I find great, I also play a lot of games in English or watch series all of this helps me at the moment of not losing my rythm and I hope that I can keep it that way.
Well that is all my fans see you around I will keep bringing news take care!

Changes to my study programme

Hello my bloggers again, today I will talk you about changes I would like to make to my study programme in the carrer I study that it is Forest engineering, there a lot of issues I personally have about this. There are some teachers whose teaching methods are not suitable for  me because I find them hard and not really useful for learning, for example we see a lot of the theory but we do not practice exercises to see if we learnt good, other times the teachers are sort of distracted and the class gets a bit boring, also the time we have to do some tests with certain technology takes too long and the time to do the test is too little, they do not always work well and it is hard to deal with that. About the length of studies I think we are okey but I would like more time to take elective subjects kinda sports or other that are not located in my faculty. The curriculum we have is good I think, but there some classes that we have to put in practice before we are teached about, this happened in our last summer practice in Frutillar, the time to do the activities there was also very short and the time to eat as well, we could not go to all the places we were supossed to go, I think it needs more planning and the carrer itself today and more in the future to improve our teaching.

My experience making the herbarium

Hello my followers, today I will share my experience making the herbarium I did last year, well for starters an herbarium is a book of plants, here you have to collect plants or branchs with fruits and or flowers from the tree or plant. For this, I had to travel to many places in search of native and exotic plants, including National Parks, Natural Reserves, I went to the beach Canelillo, located in Valparaíso, also the hill Panul,  Quebrada de Macul, Cajón del Maipo, and some parks near my house one of them inside a mental asylum, luckily nothing bad happened.  I traveled to all this places with my fiends, at first I was scared of going outside but I got conffidence and now I feel ,more safe going around, we visited extraordinary places and I loved that. To make the herbarium I started since the work was sent, I was slow at first, because I didnt know how to keep the samples from dehydrating, and they broke or got dry, my first tries to do it were a failure, after 3 months I finished the last day before the deadline, that day I slept 2 hours and woke up death to  go to the college, I coud say I enjoyed doing this owrk through it was frustanting, I had a great time traveling  and collecting plants with my friends.

Postgraduate Studies

Hello everyone again, today I am going to talk about my Postgraduate Studies, I am not so excited about the idea of talking about since last time I showed you I am a litlle confused on what I want to do, but anyway I will try to tell you what I hope. If there is a possibility I would like to take a postgraudate course about Preserving National Parks and Natural Reserves, I would love to get in that since it is my dream to help preserving the nature and protecting wild life animals, to do this I would get a course about Genetic Preservation, Ecology and Fauna, and of course Dynamics of woods along with Formulation and Evaluation of Conservation and Protection Projects, it could be here in Chile since it is a really beauty place and it would be close to my home, but maybe I wouldnt mind to study abroad, and I would like to study in a blended system, where I study from my house and go to the place to do the tests, the other option would be a part-time course where I would work( something I have nerver done) in a research with some teachers and study at the same time, I think it would be hard to do the two things so I would probably just study.

My future job

Hello everyone again, today I am going to talk about my future job or at least the one I dream about.
In the future, I would like to be an ecotourism guide in many places around the world, especially where there are big forests and wild animals, first I would start in Chile probably in the south working in the National Park "Torres del Paine", after wich I will go to other countries and so on. I hope there comes a lot of money from this profession but I am not so sure about that, anyways more than for the money I would work in that because I love being outoors. I do not know too much about the major to take, but I will see about it in another time. In the meantime I will investigate more about other places where I could work, and ask persons I know that are already workin in that. I have other option that is to study Genetic aplicated to forests, for that end I am getting to work as an assistant in CESAF here in my University, after that I would find a work in a laboratory dedicated to that, so defining what I will do in the future is still unknown.

Traditions in our Independence day celebration

Hello my bloggers again today I will talk about my family´s traditions on Independency Day here in Chile 18 of September. With my family we usually stay at home doing a barbecue the whole day and other times we visit my aunt who lives nearby and have a large party all together. There and in my house we eat a lot of meat, tipically "abastero, costillar, prieta, choripanes, huachalomo" and drink beers for example "chicha, ponche, and the classic terremotos" that is pretty much the menu for those days. There I share with my three cousins Sebastian, Ignacio and Daniel along with my uncle Ricardo, we play football and go to haul volantines that is tradition in my country, I personally am not too good at it, but still it is always fun to watch. We do not go to fondas because we find them really tiring and there is always a lot of people so we do not like it, but this year I went on my own to check them out and ended up thinking the contrary, I dance cueca a few since I am kinda shy but I always am ready just in case that is all for today take care.

My favourite food

Hello everyone today I will talk about my favorite food, and some facts about food in general that I like, okay let us begin: I prefer junk food more than healthy, some french fries, burgers, pizza, I know they are not good for my health, but it is usually cheaper, sometimes, well most of the times actually I have to spend the minimum money to make it last as much as I can. I like salty food most, but it always comes with something sweet, it is not like I can decide for wich one is best. My favorite food would be lasagna, a type of pasta that is served in sheets, it comes from Italy as far as I know and for me it is one of the most delicious plates there is, it is sort of sad that in my house, we only cook for Christmas but I still want to eat more. I do not really know how to cook, only rice and omelet, I hope I can learn from my family and friends so I can do it too someday and cook very well.

The best Holidays ever

Hello again people today I will talk about the best holiday I have ever had. Last year during winter I do not remember exactly when , I went to Valle Nevado, a ski resort belonging to the municipality of Lo Barnechea, located here in my country Chile. I went with my dad only, he invited to go there for a afternoon, we had a long trip about 3 hours from my house, that day I had to dress properly since when we got there, there was a lot of snow and it was very cold, we had lunch in a restaurant and ate lasagna one of my favourite plates. After showing me the place and the persons my father knew, he took me to a ski slope and handed me the right equipment. I was very nervous since it was my first time skiing, of course he teached some moves but the practice was nothing compared to going down that snow track, of course I fell lot of times but it was awesome the speed while we were going down, it was very exciting I would love to go there again someday and I hope all of you do the same.

A place I would like to visit

Hello again people it has been a long time since my last blog so I have a lot to show you now, today I will talk about a place I would like to visit; the country I chose it is Iceland because of the photos I have seen of the place, I think it has one of the most beautiful landscapes you can see around the world. Iceland is one of the best places in the world to see one of the most impressive wonders in this world that are the Northern Lights of the Northern Lights. The waterfalls of Iceland are innumerable. Each year they are formed by the melting of the glaciers and each river has its own jumps. And although it may be funny to believe in elves, it is part of the Icelandic culture, believe it or not many families still have little elf houses in their gardens. I would love to live there, it is very bustling and not as urbanized as many countries, a beautiful place to lead a quiet life.

Blogg experience

Hello bloggers, today is a big day because this is the last blogg I am going to write for a long time.
It is about my experience working on this, the topics, and the bloggs I have created and how I feel about it.
Well I gotta say this has been good, I had a good time doing this, for me at least it was sort of relaxing and funny when I compared with my classmates what they wrote in their bloggs. I never found this too compicated, since it is all related to our carrer and I always had the time necessary to do it.  My favourite blogg was about "My favourite band" in wich I talked about Sigúr Ros and I loved it because I felt so excited to know they are coming to Chile and I hope I can still get a entry. My least favourite blogg was the one called "An expert on my field", not beacuse of the topic, but because that day I was really tired and sleepy so I didnt feel like writing it. Finally I would like to say thanks a lot to you my followers for comenting my bloggs and paying attetion to it. Hope we talk soon , byee

My favourite animal..

Hello everyone again, today I will tell you about my favorite animal, the wolf, (Canis lupus). The wolf is, a species of placental mammal of the order of carnivores. Wolves were once abundant and were distributed throughout North America, Eurasia and the Middle East. Currently, for a number of reasons related to man, including the widespread habit of hunting, wolves inhabit a very limited portion of what was formerly their territory. In some parts of the world like the US Species are considered as endangered or threatened. They have been hunted for the threat they pose to livestock. Wolves often have the coat of several mixed colors. Howling helps the pack members to keep in touch, allowing them to communicate effectively in dense forests or great distances. Wolves are territorial animals, and visual communication with the impressive variety of expressions and modes, that from subtle signs or slight movements, to more obvious expressions like showing complete submission by rolling upside down.
The reason I chose the wolf, is that as a child, I saw a movie called Balto, which was about a dog with the wolf mixture that had to carry medicine on sleds for some sick children.

My favourite tree...

Hello everyone again, today I will talk to you about my favourite tree wich is the Maiten(Maytenus boaria). I chose this one because I believe it is a beautiful tree and I really like the colors and the architecture that it has. It is a native tree of South America. In my country, Chile, it inhabits from Tarapacá to Magallanes, but at present it is in very restricted zones of the southern sector of the Andes mountain range. It is an evergreen tree, which can reach 20 meters in height. Its leaves are small, simple, and alternate. The flowers are small; The masculine ones are yellow-brown and the feminine green ones with purple lines. Among its uses is firewood to produce charcoal, and as food for cattle from which comes its name Boaria that means "relative to cattle" in Latin, the above because the animals look for their leaves to eat. In addition, the flowers combined with the European bees introduced produce a delicious honey. Today's theme seems to me to be extremely important, since knowing trees, their structure, products and functioning is a key aspect of what I am studying, so the more I study the trees, the closer I get to the understanding of nature. That for today friends, take care of yourself and see you the other week.

An expert on my field

Hello everyone again, today I will tell you about a person who is an expert in the field of what I am studying, Forest Engineering, she is Claudia Cerda, who teaches a subject called Forest Products and Services, who is also a forestry engineer Of the University of Chile, she is specialized in the field of how ecosystems and nature relate to people, as well as the benefits we receive from them. This is peculiarly interesting because, personally, I am more attracted to working with people who are related to forests, more than for example working in a laboratory with samples of plants, since it has never been my strong and I was going bad In that field, that is why I have seen the opportunity to work with her, because she invited us to cooperate in the investigation of ecosystem services which I am very enthusiastic about, she knows how to elaborate very well and defend her ideas very well, besides being concrete With facts and making us see the reality of many problems that exist today in matters of environmental management.
Well that for today, watch out and see you next week.

My favourite band

Today I'm going to talk about another free topic that I was given to share with you and this time it will be about my favorite band of music called Sigur Ros.
Sigur Ros ("Victory Rose" in Icelandic) is an Icelandic post-rock band with elements of shoegazing and minimalism. The band is known for its ethereal sound and for the falsetto of voice of its singer Jón Þór Birgisson.
I met the band with a song that was at the end of the movie 127 hours, and I liked both the melody and the singer's voice, that I searched until I found it. Since then I have listened more often as, for example, when I sleep on a bus out of Santiago, or studying since it is a very calm and motivating rhythm that helps me concentrate, I feel at peace when I listen to them and that is why I consider them my favorite band of the moment. Also I find out recently that they come to Chile so I will definitely go and see them !!
Below I leave the link of a song of them, that for today, take care, and goodbye

My photography

Hello everyone again today I'm going to talk about a photograph that I chose to share with you.
This photo is about me posing with my cousin Alonso who is 2 years old, I chose this photo because I went to visit my family on the paternal side, living in Ñuñoa, near the station Ñuble, that day I stayed with them having pancakes with Avocado , Te and many cookies, besides meeting my cousin for the first time, I was very surprised to see him and I played with him almost all afternoon, so to portray this moment I took a picture of us 2 and so it stayed. Also I want to say that this photo has its retouching that I did with an application of the cell phone so it is not entirely original. I like how my cousin appears noting the white of his face and his hair that makes him look blond, which gives me some envy. Well that's all for today and see you next week take care!

Río Clarillo National Reserve

Hello everyone again, today I will tell you about a free topic that I want to share with you, the Rio Clarillo National Reserve, located in the Pirque commune, in the Metropolitan Region, it was created in 1982.
Its surface covers 13,185 hectares, with a relief of deep valleys and great heights. It has beautiful pre-mountain ranges, mountains with vegetation composed of sclerophyllous trees and shrubs, which abound in the gorges.
Inside are tables and benches, burners, garbage cans, toilet and laundry services. Within the reserve there are 2 established hiking trails: Sendero Interpretativo Quebrada Jorquera, Sendero Interpretativo Aliven Mahuida There is also an Arboretum with species from all over the country. I chose this place because I like nature a lot, and personally I went there with friends and family, so I would like to know more places like this, and you can do it too.

MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY.

Hello my dear fans, today I'm going to talk about my favorite piece of technology, my cell phone. This device is a mobile cell phone. It is my favorite because it has many functions and accompanies me all day in the house, exits, university, etc. What I like most about it is that it allows me to be communicated with my friends and family, when I travel so that's why I value it a lot and it's my favorite. It measures less than my hand, it has a good shell with a lion, a camera with Very high definition, high memory space, which goes mostly in photos and music that I download. Its use for other people would be less or less the same as I do, especially communicating that is the main thing.
Well that it is for today, take care guys byee

Expectations for a new semester

Hello everyone, today I will talk you about my expectations for this new semester. I am planning on taking Vivero, wich is about greenhouse activities on plant management, planting, irrigation, etc. I also have water management in mind, which I hope will try to address the water conservation problems that exist today in forests and in the world in general.
The things I like of University are that I can relax to see an environment so related to nature, I feel clear of the stage that I see in my house, seeing so many buildings, houses and streets; I am distracted from it, I also know many new people with whom I have been very well and thanks to it my world has opened more. The things I do not like would be that sometimes the stresses about studying are a lot, some outings are very tiring and we can have a lot of homework after arriving home, which makes it very tiring.
In addition I want to take Guitar, or Folklore as elective, of which I am sure I will be very pleased. My favorite branch is Forest Products and Services, where we are now seeing the part of ecosystem services provided by the various ecosystems, the economy is also important in this field and I like to learn about all this. What I hope about this semester is to expand my knowledge to different areas and do many of the workshops I wanted to take before. With this, I say goodbye to you, see you next week!

My autobiography

My name is Diego Villalobos, I live in Chile, in Santiago, I am nineteen years old, and I study Forestry Engineering in Universidad de Chile because I love the forests and nature itself, I also like animals, especially dogs and wolves.
In my free time I like to play computer games, practicing guitar, and doing exercices such as climbing or football.
I live with my father, my mother, my brother, my direction is Antillanca 02715.
I had the love of my life in my early years while I was still in school.
My plans for the future are to work in a National Reserve to help conservate it and move onto living in the south of Chile. And more important to travel around the world with my friends.
